am i the only one who finds the concept of magic collars like super fucking weird? i get it when you think of restraining devices collars are the most immediate thing but like this is fantasy you can slap someone with cuffs that explode in a shower of blood that causes people to slowly bleed out. sure it's not head go explody fun but at least it isn't super fucking weird and uncomfortable to read in an rp. you could even come up with something like magical ankle bracelets or earrings that go 'beep beep BOOM' or literally anything else why collars

i have woken up to this happening like twice to ppl and like i dunno fam its super weird and sketch and i feel like the desired effect is the same whether its a collar and cuffs but at least cuffs dont have the same weird connotations as collars do

Because Another Game™ has them mostly. But also because shock or disruption collars are a common trope in modern or scifi imprisonments. See: Deadpool in the maximum security prison where they have collars that disable their mutant powers.

I think arcane contracts are better for the reason that they're more interesting.

I usually just give people a wristshackle or an ankle-band, but the collar thing never really struck me as weird, personally. Overall the things are just a convenient way to confine someone to a town without forcing them to stay in a cell with 0 RP.
