Custom Sprite Poll

Usually when given a deadline, people work efficiently. I have no doubt that it will be completed by the time Roomy said. He's more efficient at coding since doing it day in and day out since even before the game's launch. The update will benefit with custom sprites. I view that function as one necessary to games of this particular niche. The amount of potential beckons a pleasing aesthetic that all isn't a shabby recolor of something that everyone else is wearing. Aesthetics and cosmetics are a vital part of roleplaying games. So yeah, I hope the patch is given a rather short delay. Two weeks isn't that long in the first place.

i'm fine with an extra delay cause infinite swag when it comes but also that's two more weeks to level up to prepare for the new antag races that are going to be coming

Lemme add a bit to this. I have no doubt whatever Roomy creates will be awesome. However, this update, originally, would have been in the game if not for Endwalker. I fear some people are feeling less inclined to get on than usual, and an extra two weeks wouldn't help. There's already a giant update and story arch ahead of us, and I'm personally completely satisfied with getting the updates as currently planned than wait an extra two weeks for some sprites.

The update's delay reduced the traction of our faction because it meant putting off stuff like houses for faction members, and its release is hoping to bring new things that will maybe bring interest back. Like actual racials, and maybe getting a remap which will let us house everyone finally. While I want custom items because I want to have my own custom weapon and such, I'm also not sure if me hibernating my faction for 2 more weeks will be good for the people who are part of it or who want me to do stuff with them outside it.

So I voted no not because it impacts me much (I could afk for 2 more weeks) but because I think it'd be a bad thing if I did and people lost interest entirely due to lack of faction progress and activity.

If we could get concrete information about relic magics (1 example tree to base apps on) and I knew if a remap was coming I'd be more active now and would support a delay, because I'd have a goal to work towards that I had a reasonable shot at achieving, but right now custom items just aren't the reason for us not being active, it's the lack of support for small faction expansion (at least until map tools are out) and lack of info on relic magic.

All for new sprites, but not a delay for them. Personally looking forwards to this update and I'd rather not see it delayed again, nor would others. Also don't think they should be saved for a giant update. Faction things have been delayed because of the update as well and I'd rather not wait longer for guilds to progress with things like expansion and events because of the wait for an update.

I'm not an impatient soul. There are plenty of things to do while time is at a metaphorical 'standstill'. It still moves friends, and if anything I see it as an opportunity to gain more valuable character development in the meantime.

Then again, as an artist, custom sprite opportunity is something I'd be sorely remiss to have amiss.

My vote is simply I wish not for time to 'unpause' until those delectable customs come full swing. Content is however it may be doled.

I can go either way and I think there are positives and negatives to a delay, listed in this thread, but, I think it's important to note for people who are saying there is not much happening in game that that doesn't need to be the case.

The game is an RP game, the last World Arc happened concurrently alongside player driven narratives, that can still be the case with or without the update, even if the new mechanics will be cool to play with and build a narrative from.
